NELODY is the creator of conFUSION concept - her dance practise and a dance teaching philosophy.

conFUSION concept explores connections among, between and within different dance styles and cultures, and draws inspiration from contemporary dance, hip hop and other dance styles and performance practices.

the focus of conFUSION concept lays in each individual’s own unique dance style and their process of learning new tools and perspectives considering movement, dance and performance.

“we are living in the era of ‘cross-genre’ and the inspiration we can draw inspiration from ‘the unknown’ endlessly.” -nelody

find your unique movement language

dance is communication. each dance style has its individual (and fascinating!) cultural roots. we can draw inspiration from their heritage and enrich our individual movement language without appropriating and falsifying the styles. throughout this process we learn more about the dance cultures and to respect and love the diversity, and ultimately can draw inspiration for our own dance style and art.

“if we understand the culture of a specific dance style and the context it’s presented in, we can learn and unlearn more than just the movements; perhaps we can grow also as human beings and artists.” - nelody

participate

in her conFUSION class, nelody introduces the participants her principles to explore dance, movement and performance. she guides you through diverse movement concepts, exercises and tasks which she has adapted into her movement research, dancing and artistic practise. the exercises, drills and routines are based on various dance techniques (i.e hip hop, contemporary, popping) and as well from somatic practices (qi gong, breath work, yoga, acting, polyrhythmic exercises) which she has integrated into her practise. through nelody’s conFUSION concept, the participants can expand their perception of dance, movement and performance - ultimately create their own dance style.

exchange with others

in the spaces which nelody facilitates, getting equally inspired by the personal and the cultural backgrounds of each participants plays an essential role. each person and body has its own personal story to tell and each dance style has its unique socio-cultural history, too. nelody facilitates the space and encourages the participants to exchange and share with each other. together we play and discover new perspectives to understand dance and performance - and ourselves. nelody hosts monthly sunday conFUSION- experimental fusion dance session for the dance community and offers her conFUSION core dance intensive workshops regularly.
